Bean Counter Tim Wilshire is done counting votes for the 2017 countdown. This is the final update and predictions. Kendrick Lamar’s – Humble will win – 98% probability of the win. 2nd is certainly up for grabs. Both Gang of Youths tracks “The deepest sighs, the frankest shadows” & “Let me down easy” have had a huge following. the favourites to take 2nd & 3rd. Ubu by Metyhl Ethel & Lorde Green Light have the following and are some chance of being 2nd. Go Bang by Pnau has been massive in the late count. Will make the top 10 which Chameleon missed out last year. The top 24 we are hoping will be the top 24 (can I out do last year, where we had the final 22 songs (albeit not in order).
Angus & Julia Stone – Chateau’s popularity surprising considering that their song from 3 years ago came 62 – ‘Heart Beats Slow’ was a better song. Great to see the Thundamentals do well with Sally.

What is this?

This page is dedicated to providing an ongoing (up-to-date style) prediction of the Triple J’s Hottest 100 for the 2016 Countdown (to take place on Triple J on 26th January 2017.

Who am I?

My profession is that of a bean counter. I have been with Confidential Tax & Business Services for over 17 years (www.ctbs.net.au; tim@ctbs.net.au). A part owner/ director for more than half of that time. I have always had a fascination with statistics. I love UFC, Triple J, Music festivals, Squash, NBA basketball and life generally.

Please see below the updated predictions (the top 200). At this stage 1 & 2 should be very close. At this stage we believe Tash Sultana – Jungle has a lock on the third spot. The gap in front and behind is over 100 votes. the sample size so far is around 2.8% of the predicted end point. *lav = like a version. Childish Gambino’s Redbone has a huge amount of momentum and is predicted to be 4th.
